Caterpillars

Selected photographs from a larger body of work.

Canberra Primary School, located in Westwood, East Kilbride closed its’ doors for the last time in the Spring of 2013. After serving the local community for over 50 years time was called on the rather battered and worn building. Built adjacent to it was a shiny new-build, which will carry the name Canberra into the 21st century. The following year the original school was demolished and the land sold for housing.

“Children are caterpillars and adults are butterflies. No butterfly ever remembers what it felt like being a caterpillar.”  Cornelia Funke, The Theif Lord

For my wife Fiona and daughters Heather and Sarah who all attended the school.
